General: Edison is a K -- 12 public school district. We are currently housed in one main building but we look forward to splitting off our elementary classes into a new building in the next few years. Our school building was originally constructed in 1922 and then expanded in 1960 with restrooms, office space, additional classrooms, lunch room/lobby and gymnasium.

Special Attributes: Our four-day week, 152-day school year, and small class size are all considered positive attributes by parents, students and employees.

Edison School Mission Statement: The Edison community establishes a safe, flexible learning environment, which provides the opportunity for students to become life-long learners. Through high academic standards and strong citizenship, we share in the development of well-rounded individuals who are prepared to meet the challenges of a dynamic world.

Enrollment: Enrollment is approximately 124 students. Numbers are about equally divided between elementary and secondary. Edison employs fourteen full-time teachers who teach a comprehensive curriculum. Because of Edison’s size, students are a part of a school family which places the individual first.

Child Nutrition Program: Lunches cost $1.00 for students in Kindergarten through 5^th grades and $1.25 for 6^th through 12^th grades. Adults pay $1.65 for lunch. Breakfasts were added this past year. We participate in the federal free and reduced meals program. Lunch bills are sent home the first week of each month for lunches eaten the previous month.

Sports: Junior and Senior High School students can participate in sports: middle school boys’ football, varsity football, girls’ volleyball, and basketball & track for both boys and girls.

School Week: Tuesday - Friday School Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
